What SORRB Doesn't Do
SORRB is an independent state agency and is not responsible for the Georgia Sex Offender Registry, which is managed by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
Therefore, SORRB does not:
determine who is required to register as a sex offender.
determine who is eligible to come off the Sex Offender Registry.
determine if someone should stay on the Sex Offender Registry.
determine or enforce an offender’s registry requirements.
SORRB is not attached to the Georgia Department of Corrections (GDC) or the Department of Community Supervision (DCS).
Therefore, SORRB does not:
determine who is granted parole or released from prison.
determine or enforce Department of Community Supervision (DCS) requirements or restrictions.
determine who is granted early termination of their community supervision.
SORRB does not determine or enforce who is and is not required to wear an ankle monitor and does not place, fix, or remove the ankle monitor.
SORRB does not provide legal advice.
