Sexual Offender Risk Review Board
SORRB is responsible for evaluating and identifying convicted sexual offenders who pose the highest risk of reoffending. The results of their work, called risk classification or leveling, safeguard Georgians and can be used to adjust community supervision levels, tailor treatment plans, and inform the public.
Office
SORRB is administratively attached to the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD).
The Board is made up of several professionals who are appointed by the Governor and serve four-year terms in the organization. The Board hires the organization's staff, which includes administrative staff, evaluators, and investigators. The administrative staff typically respond to general inquiries.
