SORRB has a significant backlog that started at its inception. For that reason, we prioritize resources for higher risk offenders. For us to expedite a case that has not been deemed a priority, you must provide the documents necessary to complete the entire evaluation.

You do not need an attorney to make a classification request.

If you do not provide all the necessary documentation your case will not be expedited. If you do provide all the necessary documentation, it will take approximately 120 days to complete the classification.

Follow these steps if you would like to request expedited classification:

  • Download the expedited classification request form.

Download the form, called “ Download this pdf file. Request for SORRB Classification ."

  • Carefully review the 5 questions on the form.

The request form has 5 guided questions.

If you can answer “Yes” to questions 1-4 after you gather the required documents, you qualify to submit a request.

  • Gather your criminal history documents; state and national.

You must get a Georgia Criminal History (GCIC) AND a National Criminal History (NCIC). These will tell you what offenses you need to obtain documentation for. However, you do not need to provide SORRB with the GCIC or NCIC. SORRB will have access to your GCIC and NCIC information.

  • Gather your individual offense documents.

Get documents for all of the offender's offenses, sexual and non-sexual. You may have to contact your defense attorney, the related law enforcement agency, or the court offices to get documentation for all offenses. Documents do not need to be certified. There may be a fee for documentation, depending on the agency.

    • SORRB only accepts PDF submissions. SORRB does not accept any data storage device.

  • Carefully review documentation and submission requirements.

Before you submit your request, understand:

    • All documentation must be submitted by email in PDF format

    • Documentation is required for every individual offense.

    • All documentation relevant to your request will need to be submitted AT THE SAME TIME as your request form, and you may not submit your request more than once.

    • There is optional documentation that you can submit with your request to support your request.

    • Requests submitted with documents missing will not be reviewed.

  • Submit your completed request form with all documentation.

Now that all of your documentation has been gathered and your form filled in, you are ready to submit your classification request.

    1. Create an email and upload your documents as attachments. We understand that due to file size, it may be necessary to create more than one email to complete your request. If so, send your emails in succession to be considered as your one request.
